Long time ago, near the Puntukas stone, there was a big forest of oaks. There many legends about the oaks: here were bonfires, sacrifices for the Gods, the crosses were being hung onto the oaks. Literature classics wrote poems about the saint oaks - A. Baranauskas, and A. Vienuolis - Žukauskas. Today there are two saint oaks. In 1990, one of the oaks deteriorated because of the high winds. The forest ranger then planted a new little oak. In 1991 a wooden sculpture was built in one of the oaks. The saint oaks are protected by the local government, as a natural heritage object.
