New walking route "After the Sculptor"

The World Anykščiai Community together with the Anykščiai Arts Center invites you to take a walk around Anykščiai, visiting the metal plastic works of the famous sculptor Romualdas Inčirauskas, who was born and raised in Anykščiai. The works are delicate, sometimes a little unexpected, but always sincere, left in places important to the artist. The first badges appeared at the initiative of the author in 2018, and have already managed to grow into a large project of a kind of "artistic vandalism".

Painter, metal sculptor, medalist R. Inčirauskas has received more than one award for his work, but in 2019. for artistic initiatives in Anykščiai he was awarded the Medal of the World Association of Anykščiai. R. Inčirauskas' medals bring visual and applied arts closer together, going beyond the framework of a traditional medal. In metal plastic, it usually uses a combination of aluminum, bronze and colored enamel. Combining reliefs with sculptural forms, objects of applied art, architectural elements, he forms new types of medals. Since 2001 until now he is a lecturer at the Telšiai Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, 2002–2010. has been an associate professor since 2010. - Professor.

The cognitive walk should start from Anykščiai Old Town. Following the "traces" left by the sculptor R. Inčirauskas, you will not only look around the picturesque town, but also get acquainted with the sculptor himself and his works, which are hidden in somewhat forgotten places and waiting to be discovered. Each badge is special and has its own unique story that reflects the artist’s sensitivity to the place. Leaving these signs, R. Inčirauskas seems to perpetuate precious childhood memories and fragments of the city's history.
